VP of Sales

JOB DESCRIPTION
The VP of Sales is responsible for the strategic development of the sales growth of the company.? He or she is charged with the retaining and growing existing business, while pursuing additional profitable growth opportunities nationwide.? He or she will oversee the Director of Sales and Director of Marketing in planning & implementing sales, product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets. The job requires visionary talent with ability to translate into implementation of strategic sales and marketing plans, goals and objectives which result in brand growth for Company.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with CEO to set strategy and vision in areas including but not limited to the company business plan, potential acquisitions, organic sales targets. marketing plan and objectives
  • Oversight of Market Fresh brand, design, creation, and implementation of a business development program which results in brand growth for Market Fresh
  • Oversight of compilation and preparation of ongoing market trend analysis.
  • Oversight of trade show exhibits and national trade media management
  • Oversight of management of existing sales, marketing staff at all Market Fresh locations
  • Oversight of development of new leads, both target retail & food service clients, as well as other opportunities to expand our sales/profits by developing positive relationships and monitoring customer satisfaction.
  • Oversight of creation and development of the company?s marketing and sales presentations
  • Build strong relationships with current and prospective major grower/shippers
  • Oversight of new item research & development
  • Work closely with procurement division to oversee strategic direction of existing and new categories.
  • Oversight of company-wide budget that supports strategic development of new business
  • Oversight of food safety and taste profile standards
  • Provide leadership contribution to senior leadership team meetings.

EXISTING CUSTOMERS

  • In conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer, Director of Sales, Director of Marketing, & the VP of Finance, agree on sales volume and profit targets; review quarterly?
  • Oversight of the development of innovative sales, marketing, and promotional activity to increase product awareness and drive sales with each customer
  • Meet with customers? buying contacts on a quarterly basis to ensure sales target are met
  • Have an in-depth understanding of the product dynamics and where threats and opportunities may lie; proactively address issues to ensure sales target are met
  • Be innovative in all aspects that challenge the status quo; propose new packaging and marketing as required to drive sales
  • Build relationships with the customers? replenishment teams to solidify our reputation as a dependable, quality supplier with excellent category, and customer specific knowledge

NEW CUSTOMERS

  • In conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer, Director of Sales, Director of? Marketing, & the VP of Finance, agree on a plan to target new customers and review quarterly.? Review & revise the plan according to market conditions, as necessary, in advance of approaching all potential customers.
  • Ensure the company is acknowledged as a leading supplier in the produce industry
  • Use an innovative approach to new products by understanding the needs of potential new customers to which product types and formats would appeal to their customer base

NEW PRODUCTS

  • In conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer, Director of Sales, Director, Director of? Marketing, & the VP of Finance, agree on a new product sales strategy to be reviewed quarterly.
  • Develop relationships outside of the customers? category teams to ensure the customer understands the range of products the company can offer
  • Understand the challenges in the marketplace for products which may be supplied by the company and use this knowledge to propose new supply opportunities through the organization

SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS

  • Develop, monitor and maintain strong, positive relationships with suppliers and growers

OTHER TASKS

  • Understand and have an in-depth knowledge of the full cycle process of order processing through receiving payment from customers to ensure an efficient process is in place. Work closely with the entire team to implement efficiencies.
  • Oversee the Director of Sales and Director of Marketing?s management of the entire sales, marketing, and packaging staff; setting targets to achieve the business goals

  • Proven produce sales & marketing experience
  • Signed acceptance of the MFP Non-Solicitation and Confidentiality Agreement
  • MFP?s receipt, approval & acceptance of the candidate?s background check?

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor of Science in business administration, with an emphasis in marketing/management or a related field is preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of successful sales management experience in the produce industry and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience?

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
